The Public Health Engineering Department has successfully restored the drinking water supply in Quetta after repairing and reactivating 50 water filtration plants. Plans are underway to bring similar plants across the province back into operation in phases, aiming to provide clean drinking water to more residents.
Public Health Engineering Secretary Imran Gichki emphasized that providing clean drinking water is a fundamental responsibility of the government, and efforts are being intensified to meet this obligation.

Filtration plants in Duki, Pishin, Loralai, and Kachhi are currently being reactivated and are expected to be fully operational by April 30.
Access to clean water is critical, as the consumption of contaminated water has led to an alarming rise in diseases affecting the heart, stomach, liver, lungs, and skin across the province.
