2 dead, 5 injured in Dera Murad Jamali shooting linked to tribal feud

DERA MURAD JAMALI, Aug 21 – Two men were killed and five others injured in a brazen daylight shooting on Wednesday near Ghanta Ghar Chowk, in what police say is the latest violence stemming from a long-running tribal feud.

According to law enforcement officials, the attack occurred near the City Police Station when armed assailants riding motorcycles and a pickup vehicle opened fire on their targets. The deceased were identified as Gul Hassan Jamali and Nawab Khan Jamali, both residents of the area and reportedly affiliated with the Jamali tribe.

The gunfire also left five bystanders injured, including a man named Naeem, who sustained critical wounds and was transferred to a hospital in Larkana for urgent medical care. The identities of the remaining injured persons have yet to be released by authorities.

Police sources believe the shooting is part of a continuing dispute between the Buxhlani Jamali and Dashti tribes. The conflict allegedly escalated earlier this year following the killing of Shaban Dashti, for which members of the Jamali tribe were held responsible.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing more than five attackers, with some fleeing the scene on motorcycles and others in a pickup truck. Security forces cordoned off the area shortly after the attack and launched a search operation to apprehend the suspects.

No arrests have been made so far, and investigations are ongoing.
