CTD apprehends "facilitators" of the Jaffar Express attack: Sources

Four individuals who are suspected of facilitating the March 11 terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express near Balochistan’s Bolan district were apprehended by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

According to CTD sources, investigations into the terrorist attack on the passenger train were currently ongoing. They said that they were collaborating with other agencies to identify and trace the individuals involved in the attack.

The sources also stated that the weapons and other communication devices that were recovered from the killed terrorists were sent for forensic analysis.
In a day-long standoff with security forces near a remote mountain pass in the Bolan district, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a terrorist organization, blew up train tracks and held over 440 passengers captive during the attack on the Jaffar Express.

The military killed 33 terrorists after clearing the train and rescuing hostages. 26 passengers were martyred by militants prior to the commencement of the operation, and four security personnel were martyred during the operation.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), addressed a press conference on March 14 and referred to India as the primary sponsor of terrorism in Balochistan. He stated that the most recent attack on the Jaffar Express was a continuance of this policy.

In a media briefing, the DG ISPR, who was accompanied by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, stated, “We are aware that the primary sponsor of the most recent attack in Balochistan and other terrorist incidents in the past is your eastern neighbor.”
Lt Gen Chaudhry verified that three FC soldiers accepted martyrdom when terrorists attacked the Frontier Corps patrol prior to the train’s ambush.

The DG ISPR disclosed that 26 train commuters were martyred, including 18 security personnel from the army and the FC, three officials from Pakistan Railways and other departments, and five civilians.
According to the military spokesperson, there were five casualties during the operation.
The Jaffar Express was halted by terrorists in hilly terrain due to an IED explosion, according to the DG ISPR. Accessibility is challenging.

“The Jaffar Express incident is a continuation of the same policy, the same sponsorship, from which it was engineered and from which it was being pushed,” he observed.
The DG ISPR, in a statement criticizing the Indian media, claimed that false videos were produced using artificial intelligence (AI) to disseminate malicious propaganda regarding the Jaffar Express attack on social media platforms.

He stated that the Indian media exaggerates the situation by utilizing fake recordings to disseminate propaganda.

“The Indian media attempted to establish a narrative [against Pakistan] by broadcasting fake videos,” he stated. He also mentioned that the Indian media also aired terrorists’ old videos that were sourced from social media.
