The Inquiry Commission on Enforced Disappearances resolved 113 missing persons cases in September 2025, including 14 from Balochistan, according to its latest report. Since its formation in March 2011, the Commission has addressed nearly 8,986 cases out of a total of 10,636 received.

The Inquiry Commission on Enforced Disappearances (ICED) resolved 113 cases of missing persons during September 2025, according to its latest monthly report.

Since its establishment in March 2011, the Commission has received a total of 10,636 complaints, of which 8,986 cases have been successfully resolved so far.

The report revealed that the Commission’s Quetta regional office continues to handle cases related to Balochistan, where 14 missing persons were reunited with their families last month.

Under the leadership of Chairman Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, the Commission has heard 289 cases in the past three months, averaging nearly 96 cases per month.

Alongside investigations, the Commission has also initiated welfare measures for the families of missing persons. A facilitation cell has been set up to assist families with essential documentation, including B-forms for children, pension claims, and other administrative requirements.

Additionally, directives have been issued to senior federal and provincial officials to extend support in areas such as education, healthcare, and overall welfare of the affected families.

The Commission said it is working in coordination with relevant departments to formulate a comprehensive plan for long-term support, particularly in cases still under investigation or awaiting classification as enforced disappearances.
