Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reiterated his government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption in public sector recruitment, declaring that no job in the province will be sold and warning that ministers and senior bureaucrats will be held accountable if irregularities are proven.
The statement came during a meeting of the Secretaries Committee chaired by the Chief Minister in Quetta, where the performance of various government departments was reviewed.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti took an oath from senior administrative officers, requiring them to pledge that government jobs in Balochistan would be awarded strictly on merit and that they would not allow any form of recruitment malpractice.
Strict Action Against Recruitment Corruption
Addressing the meeting, Bugti said that if credible evidence emerges proving the sale of government jobs, neither the concerned minister nor the departmental secretary would remain in office.
“I said on day one that no government job will be sold in Balochistan, and we all stand united on this principle,” the Chief Minister stated.
He emphasized that protecting the employment rights of Balochistan’s youth is a top priority and that any attempt to exploit job seekers through corruption would be dealt with firmly.
Probe Ordered into Forest Department Recruitment
The Chief Minister also ordered a high-level investigation into complaints of irregularities in recruitment within the Forest Department.
He directed authorities to conduct an impartial inquiry and said that any individual found guilty through verified evidence would face strict legal and administrative action.
“If the investigation proves misconduct, those involved will not escape punishment,” Bugti said.
Merit-Based Recruitment Essential for Youth Confidence
Bugti instructed secretaries to closely monitor subordinate staff and recruitment committees to ensure complete transparency throughout hiring processes.
He stressed that recruitment based on merit is essential for restoring public confidence in state institutions and ensuring equal opportunities for young people across the province.
“We will endure every kind of pressure to stop the sale of jobs, but we will not compromise on the rights of Balochistan’s youth,” he added.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the province’s civil servants, saying they possess the capability to steer Balochistan in the right direction, provided transparency and accountability remain at the forefront of governance.
