Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti opened several new medical facilities at Civil Sandeman Hospital demonstrating the government’s dedication to improving healthcare access and quality for residents.
The hospital now features a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, an advanced Cath Lab, and a digital pharmacy system designed to upgrade public healthcare services across the region. Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Advisor Naseem Ur Rehman Malkhail, and multiple provincial assembly members joined the opening ceremony.
While touring the hospital, CM Sarfaraz Bugti examined the new equipment and recognized the commitment of medical staff, particularly Dr. Waseh. The doctor made a significant personal sacrifice by leaving a high-paying position in England (earning Rs 3.2 million monthly) to work in Balochistan for just Rs 150,000 per month. Sarfaraz Bugti announced he would nominate Dr. Waseh for a prestigious civil award, describing him as “a true asset to society.”
The Chief Minister also shared that Rs 1 billion from the provincial budget will fund the reconstruction of Civil Hospital, Balochistan’s largest medical facility. He confirmed that the MRI machine will run around the clock and the Cath Lab is now fully operational for patients.
To address corruption concerns, Sarfaraz Bugti praised the new digital pharmacy system as an important step toward greater transparency. He acknowledged Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and his team for their work in improving health department operations.
Sarfaraz Bugti welcomed constructive feedback and discussion but made it clear that public welfare remains the top priority. He issued a strong warning about political interference from government employees, stating that violations of the BEDA Act would face serious consequences.
“The government will not give in to pressure or threats,” Sarfaraz Bugti stated. “We support the poor and disadvantaged. Quality healthcare is a basic right, and we’re committed to providing it to every citizen.”
