China has strongly condemned the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Balochistan and reiterated its firm support for Pakistan in combating militancy and ensuring national stability.
Speaking at a press briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian expressed deep condolences to the victims and sympathy for the injured and bereaved families.
“China firmly opposes terrorism in all its forms and will, as always, resolutely support Pakistan in fighting terrorism, safeguarding social unity and stability, and protecting the safety of its people,” he said.
Security Operations Intensify Across Balochistan
Pakistani security forces continued operations for a fifth consecutive day following Saturday’s coordinated assaults on 12 different locations across the province.
According to security officials, 177 militants have been killed in operations launched since Friday. The banned militant outfit Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attacks, which left 31 civilians and 17 security personnel dead.
Authorities have also suspended mobile and internet services in Quetta and several other districts as part of heightened security measures.
China’s statement joins a wave of international condemnation. The United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Jordan all denounced the attacks and expressed solidarity with Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s government and people, while Türkiye expressed sorrow over the loss of life and reiterated its commitment to supporting counter-terrorism efforts. The UAE condemned the violence in the strongest terms and rejected extremism in all forms.
