The alleged killer of a CCD official was killed in a Gwadar encounter during a police operation in Balochistan, according to police officials.
A suspect allegedly involved in the killing of a Crime Control Department (CCD) official in Gujarat was killed during a police encounter in Balochistan’s Gwadar district, police said on Sunday.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as Noman Nasir, was allegedly involved in the murder of CCD official Faiz Shah, who was shot dead by two motorcyclists during a police chase in Jalalpur Jattan City on May 7.
Police said a case was registered after the incident, while investigators used video footage and other evidence to trace the suspect. Authorities claimed the accused escaped to Balochistan following the murder.
Officials said police received intelligence regarding the suspect’s presence in the Gresha area of Gwadar district. Acting on the information, a police team conducted a raid near a local nullah.
According to the FIR registered at Gwadar City Police Station, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police party during the operation. Police retaliated, resulting in the death of Noman Nasir, while his accomplices managed to flee.
Police said efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the case.
