Captain Waqar Kakar, a young officer of the Pakistan Army, embraced martyrdom in the line of duty during a terrorist attack in the Mand area of Kech, Balochistan, earlier today.
Captain Waqar Kakar belonged to the 47th Cavalry (Armoured Corps) and was a graduate of the 142nd Long Course. At the time of the incident, he was deployed with the 125th Wing of Frontier Corps Balochistan (Dasht Scouts, Turbat). He was martyred in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack while serving in one of the most challenging and volatile regions of the province.
The attack also claimed the lives of four other brave soldiers, Naik Junaid,Naik Ismat,Lance Naik Khan Muhammad,Sepoy Zahoor.
The entire nation stands in solemn solidarity with the families of these martyrs and salutes their ultimate sacrifice in the defense of the homeland.
Terrorists Eliminated in Buleda Counter-Terror Operation
In a separate incident, troops of FC Balochistan successfully neutralized seven terrorists during a precision intelligence-based operation near Buleda, in Kech District.
According to military sources, the terrorist group was detected 3.5 kilometers northeast of Kotan Post. The engagement began in the Ganji Naari area and was executed in three decisive phases, lasting a total of just 17 minutes.
Ground surveillance drones picked up heat signatures confirming enemy presence. Lightly armed quick reaction forces moved in swiftly, sealing all potential escape routes. In the final phase, two smart munitions were launched via drone, directly hitting the target and eliminating all seven terrorists on the spot.
The operation successfully thwarted a potential threat and dismantled a terror cell before it could carry out any malicious activities in the region.
