Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi approves transfer of bulletproof vehicles from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Balochistan to boost counter-terrorism operations.
Federal government transfers bulletproof vehicles to Balochistan to strengthen anti-terror operations.

The federal government has decided to transfer bulletproof vehicles originally allocated to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to Balochistan, following the province’s request for enhanced security equipment.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the decision on Wednesday, stating that the bulletproof vehicles will be sent to Balochistan immediately to strengthen counter-terrorism operations in the province.

The move comes after Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti appealed to the federal government, saying that like KP, Balochistan is also heavily affected by terrorism and needs additional protection resources.

Earlier this week, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had criticized the federal government for sending “defective and old” bulletproof cars, claiming that Islamabad had failed to release funds under the country’s war on terror. Afridi’s remarks drew sharp reactions from federal ministers.

Responding to the controversy, Bugti wrote on social media platform X that if the KP government was unwilling to accept the vehicles, they should be transferred to Balochistan, where they would be used for the safety of citizens and security forces.

Reacting to the post, Naqvi replied, “CM sahib, done. These bulletproof vehicles will be sent to Balochistan immediately to enhance counter-terrorism efforts. Thank you for raising this.”

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also criticized the KP government, saying that the province’s leadership was “playing politics” over national security issues instead of contributing to counter-terrorism efforts.

CM Bugti emphasized that public safety remains the top priority of the Balochistan government and that additional security measures are being implemented to protect citizens and law enforcement personnel.
