Commandant Zhob Militia (Frontier Corps Balochistan) Brigadier Azhar Khan has said that education is the fundamental right of every child, praising the Balochistan Residential College (BRC) Zhob for its key role in providing quality education to students from diverse and remote communities.

Brigadier Azhar, accompanied by newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Zarkoon, visited BRC Zhob where Principal Guldar Ali Khan received and briefed the distinguished guests. The delegation inspected academic blocks, administrative offices, and student hostels to review facilities and ongoing initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Azhar highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities alongside formal academics, particularly sports. Emphasizing football as a major source of discipline and physical development for students, he announced financial support for the construction of a state-of-the-art football ground at the college, equipped with modern sports facilities.

Principal Guldar Ali Khan, in his welcome remarks, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to holistic education.
“Along with rigorous academics, we strongly promote extracurricular and sports activities at BRC Zhob. Students actively participate in debates, science exhibitions, district-level events and sports competitions,” he said. “These efforts enhance physical fitness, creativity, leadership and self-confidence, and help uncover hidden talent among students from rural backgrounds.”

Deputy Commissioner Arif Zarkoon also appreciated the pivotal contribution of BRCs in uplifting the province’s educational landscape.
“By offering high-quality learning environments and creating opportunities for underprivileged communities, BRCs are strengthening social cohesion and contributing significantly to Balochistan’s long-term socio-economic development,” he said.

The guests assured their full support to the college administration in resolving institutional challenges. Principal Guldar Ali Khan presented souvenirs to Brigadier Azhar and DC Zarkoon, while the Brigadier distributed cash prizes among high-achieving students.

BRC Zhob has a long-standing record of academic excellence, with its students securing top positions in board examinations and competitive entry tests. Many alumni progress to leading universities and professional institutions across Pakistan, contributing to civil services, engineering, medicine and other key fields.
