At least five individuals, including Nawagai Assistant Commissioner Faisal Ismail and two police officials, lost their lives while 11 others were injured in a bomb explosion on Wednesday in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The incident occurred on Nawagai Road near Siddiqabad railway attack area in Khar tehsil, targeting a government vehicle that was completely destroyed in the bomb blast, according to District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafique.

The victims included Tehsildar Abdul Wakil, Subedar Noor Hakim, and police constable Rashid. The injured were promptly transported to Khar Hospital, where emergency protocols were initiated to provide medical care. An emergency has been declared across Bajaur hospitals, with health department staff on high alert.

Bomb disposal units and a special investigative team from the counterterrorism department (CTD) were deployed to the site to gather evidence.

Authorities, including KP Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, emphasized utilizing all resources to support relief efforts and investigate the incident thoroughly. The KP Chief Minister has also ordered a formal inquiry into the attack.
