Five fishermen die after boat capsizes near Gwadar coast

An incident occurred when a fishing boat capsized in the open sea near the Gwadar coastline, claiming the lives of five fishermen, officials reported on Monday.

The vessel, which had departed from Karachi, sank in deep waters. Upon receiving distress calls, local fishermen promptly responded, rescuing one survivor from the scene.

“There were six fishermen aboard when the boat overturned,” an official confirmed. Rescue teams, with support from nearby fishermen, recovered the bodies of the five victims.

Out of the five bodies retrieved, two have been sent to Karachi, while the remaining three are currently with Edhi authorities in Gwadar. One of the deceased, a resident of Ali Akbar Shah Goth in Ibrahim Haideri, has already been laid to rest following funeral prayers held after Zuhr.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
