On the night of January 31, BLA militants attacked passenger buses bound for Quetta and Karachi in Mangochar, Kalat district. The buses were carrying numerous passengers, including women and children.
The terrorists attempted to establish roadblocks in the general area of Mangochar. In response, security forces and law enforcement agencies were immediately mobilized, successfully thwarting the terrorists’ plans.
During the intense clearance operation, twelve BLA terrorists were killed. However, the operation also resulted in the martyrdom of eighteen brave soldiers who fought valiantly to protect the local population.
Sanitization operations are ongoing in the area to bring the perpetrators, facilitators, and abettors of this heinous act to justice. Pakistan’s security forces, in unity with the nation, remain determined to thwart any attempts to destabilize the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan.
Earlier, on January 26, a passenger bus traveling on the M-8 Highway from Khuzdar to Rawalpindi was targeted near Khori, approximately 25 kilometers from Khuzdar city. The attack resulted in the death of one person and injuries to seven others, including the bus conductor.
On January 9, BLA gunmen launched a daring assault. The attack occurred in the main bazaar of Tehsil Zehri, Khuzdar district. The armed men targeted a private bank. They took staff members hostage. The gunmen looted over Rs90 million from the strongroom. They fled the scene afterward.
These recent attacks highlight the persistent threat posed by the BLA in the region. In response, authorities have intensified security measures and launched investigations to apprehend those responsible for these acts of terror.
