Three CTD personnel injured; weapons, explosives and key digital data recovered
Pakistani security forces have killed 14 terrorists belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Barkhan and Derkshan areas of Balochistan, security sources confirmed on Tuesday.
According to officials, six terrorists were neutralised in Barkhan, while eight were killed in a separate operation in Derkshan. During the operations, three Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel sustained injuries due to heavy firing by armed militants.
The bodies of the slain terrorists were shifted to nearby hospitals for medico-legal procedures.
Weapons, Explosives and Digital Evidence Recovered
Security forces recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives from the terrorists’ possession. Officials said that documents and digital material seized during the operations contained detailed planning for terrorist activities in the coming months, including potential targets, movement routes and logistical arrangements.
Sources revealed that the recovered material also exposed operational directives from Bashir Zeb, indicating that he had been issuing instructions to frequently change hideouts. The data included a prepared list of multiple locations, suggesting attempts to evade security surveillance.
Earlier yesterday in another counter terrorism operation, four terrorists were killed in a CTD encounter in Karachi after security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Shah Latif Town, officials said. The militants were linked to the banned BLA Bashir Zeb group and were involved in preparing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), while a large cache of explosives and weapons was also recovered during the raid.
Security officials stated that all recovered intelligence is now in the custody of law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The information is being analysed and will be used to plan further targeted operations against terrorist networks operating in Balochistan.
Authorities reiterated their resolve to continue operations until terrorist infrastructure in the province is fully dismantled.
