Five labourers from Sindh were injured after armed militants of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) hurled a grenade at a residential quarter in the coastal town of Pasni late night, police said.
According to police reports, militants riding motorcycles targeted a house located in Ward No. 9, throwing a hand grenade into the courtyard of the residential compound. The grenade exploded inside the premises, injuring five labourers and damaging a portion of the house.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene shortly after the blast and shifted the injured to the district hospital for treatment.
A police official said the condition of one labourer is serious, while the others remain stable despite receiving multiple injuries.
Authorities said the injured workers belong to Larkana and Qambar Shahdadkot districts of Sindh and were staying in Gwadar for employment as labourers.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Rising Attacks on Labourers in Balochistan
The Pasni grenade attack comes amid a series of attacks targeting labourers and civilians in Balochistan.
On March 3, BLA militants hurled a hand grenade at a government office in Dhadar town of Bolan district.
Earlier, on January 31, five labourers from Sindh were lined up and shot dead in Nushki while working at a construction site for a degree college building intended for local students.
On February 1, armed militants stormed the home of a local imam and schoolteacher, Mufti Amshad Ali, killing him along with his wife and their three children.
In October 2025, around two dozen BLA militants surrounded the camp of a construction company working on a World Bank-funded water channel project in Mola tehsil of Khuzdar district and abducted ten labourers along with the company’s manager at gunpoint. The kidnapped workers were later recovered.
Several recent incidents have involved attacks on labourers working on infrastructure, education, and development projects across Balochistan.
