Security forces patrol in Quetta after BLA attacks in Balochistan were foiled
Security personnel on patrol in Quetta following failed BLA militant attacks across Balochistan.

A new wave of violence struck Balochistan as militants linked to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) launched retaliatory attacks across several districts. The assaults came after security forces eliminated more than 50 militants in intelligence-based operations over the past two days.

Sources say the attacks were not centrally coordinated, but carried out by militant groups hiding within civilian areas.

On Saturday, BLA militants launched a wave of attacks in several urban centers. All attacks were foiled by security forces.

Quetta

  • Police van targeted on Sariab Road

  • Police and Frontier Corps retaliated, killing four militants

  • A vehicle-borne bomb near Hockey Chowk was defused before reaching its target

  • A building was cleared after reports of BLA presence; no civilians harmed

  • Militants had taken shelter in a private school

  • Bodies of militants were reportedly lying on some roads following clashes

  • On Quetta Bypass (Ganj area), militants tried to block roads and harass civilians; forces killed six militants within 35–40 minutes.

Nushki

  • Militants fired at Frontier Corps headquarters

  • Security personnel returned fire; attackers fled

  • Search operation continues.

Dalbandin

  • Suicide-style attack attempted on FC headquarters

  • Security forces surrounded militants; exchange of fire continued.

Kalat

  • Deputy Commissioner Office and Police Lines attacked

  • Assault repelled; militants reportedly suffered heavy losses

Pasni

  • Eight militants killed, including one woman

Gwadar

Use of Women in the Attacks

Security sources state that BLA used two women in these attacks. One female attacker was hiding in a private school in Quetta along with other militants. One woman suicide attacker was killed in Pasni along with five BLA terrorists.

Women were forcibly brought for suicide missions and accompanied by male militants to prevent escape or surrender.

In December 2025, a female suicide attacker, Zarina Rafiq, detonated near the FC HQ gate. She was tasked to detonate inside the building, six BLA militants were with her to make sure she detonates inside the buidling.

Security Situation and Casualties

  • Two to three security personnel sustained injuries

  • Militants suffered heavy casualties

  • Security forces had prior intelligence regarding the threat

  • More than 50 militants had already been killed in the previous 48 hours

  • An additional 23 militants have reportedly been killed during these retaliatory attempts

Many areas across Balochistan have now been cleared

Sources believe these attacks were part of BLA’s so-called “Herof 2” campaign, launched in response to recent militant losses. However, the campaign largely failed due to rapid intelligence sharing and counter-operations.

Militant Networks Severely Weakened
