The government of Balochistan has taken a major step towards digitization by integrating Bolan Medical Complex and Sandeman Provincial Hospital with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for issuing birth and death certificates, announced Local Government and Rural Development Secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch on Tuesday.
Mr. Baloch called it a milestone initiative and confirmed that Nadra has fully digitized the birth and death certificates system. He added, “Additional measures are underway to enhance and streamline the Civil Registration Management System across the province.”

Key officials participating in the meeting included Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman Panizai, Local Government Board Secretary Shujaat Hussain, Nadra Balochistan Director General Naveed Jan Sahibzada, and directors from various departments.
The local government secretary also emphasized improving the functionality of Union Council offices to better facilitate the issuance of various vital documents, such as birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates.
A local government investigative committee will review current birth and death records to address long-standing registration challenges.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Local Government Department, the Health Department, and Nadra. This agreement formalizes their partnership to implement digital registration processes across Balochistan, heralding a new era of streamlined civil data management.
