In Barkhan district of Balochistan, at a location in Union Council Rarkan, BLA executed seven passengers from Punjab after identifying them. The incident took place on the national highway, where armed men stopped passenger vehicles for inspection. Among those killed was a man who had traveled to Quetta for condolence. He was taken off the bus and killed, while his sisters remained inside.

A female eyewitness recounted that after checking her brother’s identity card, the assailants forcibly removed him from the coach and killed him. The women stated that they had traveled from Faisalabad to Quetta to offer condolences for the death of their sister-in-law.

Another eyewitness, a resident of Burewala, said that he was traveling from Quetta to Multan with his brother. He reported that authorities removed his brother and six other passengers from the bus after checking identity cards. Shortly after, gunfire rang out.

The survivor further revealed that the gunmen executed his brother and seven other passengers with gunshots to the head after identifying them.

Among those killed in the Barkhan terrorist attack was Shaukat, a resident of the People’s Colony in Faisalabad. He had gone to Quetta with his family for a relative’s funeral. On their return, terrorists pulled him out of the vehicle and martyred him. They have brought Shaukat’s body back to Faisalabad, and they will hold his funeral prayer at midnight.

Ehsan, a 20-year-old resident of Dijkot, worked in Quetta and was returning home for the first time after securing employment. Tragically, he became a target of terrorists. His untimely death has devastated his parents and relatives.

In Burewala, grief has overwhelmed the household of Adnan Mustafa. The ruthless terrorists left his two children orphaned. Adnan, a rice trader, traveled to Quetta with his brother Zeeshan Mustafa. Authorities spared Zeeshan because his identity card was in English. The Motorway Police transported retired DSP Muhammad Ishaq’s body, martyred in the Barkhan terrorist attack, to Multan. Meanwhile, his hometown is in deep mourning.

Ajmal’s family has laid him to rest in his ancestral village, Pipli Wala, in Lodhran. His body devastated his family upon its arrival. Ajmal’s brothers, Akmal and Akhtar, expressed their grief, saying they are poor laborers and that Ajmal had gone to Quetta for work. He died while medical treatment was still being arranged for his appendicitis, shortly after he returned home.

The families of those who lost their lives in this terrorist attack are, therefore, urging the government to take immediate measures in order to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
