Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Balochistan’s significance as a vital province of Pakistan during a ceremony for the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass in Islamabad.
He emphasized that the development projects in the region aim to address the people’s needs, stating that they are upgrading the former deadly track, which claimed many lives, into a highway. Additionally, he announced doubling Balochistan’s share in the NFC award.

Speaking at the event, PM Sharif applauded the ongoing development initiatives in Islamabad, asserting that the capital is transforming into a hub of progress and modern facilities. He highlighted several beautification and expansion efforts, particularly those enhancing traffic flow and the city’s aesthetic appeal, notably with blooming floral displays.
The Prime Minister praised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for his proactive role in improving Islamabad’s infrastructure and beautification projects. He lauded the swift pace of work, branding this collective progress as not just “Shehbaz Speed” or “Mohsin Naqvi Speed,” but “Pakistan Speed.”
On a larger scale, PM Sharif announced with optimism that international credit rating agency Fitch has improved Pakistan’s outlook from CCC to B- (stable). He attributed this success to teamwork and collective efforts, which have been instrumental in stabilizing the economy. He expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to continue on a path of prosperity with the same resilience that has overcome significant challenges in the past.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to timely project completions. He announced that the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass will be completed in just 35 days, well ahead of its scheduled 60-day deadline. Additionally, he noted that steps are underway to resolve traffic issues around Faisal Mosque Chowk and operationalize the parking plaza in Blue Area.
