Train services from Balochistan to other parts of the country have been restored after a six-day suspension, bringing much-needed relief to travelers. Railway stations have begun returning to normal activity as passenger movement resumes.
Railway authorities said operations had been temporarily halted last week due to security concerns. Following improved conditions and clearance, services have now been reinstated.
Routes That Have Reopened
The following key routes are now operational again:

Quetta to Peshawar — Jaffar Express

Quetta to Karachi — Bolan Mail

Quetta to Chaman — Chaman Passenger Train
The restoration reconnects Balochistan with other provinces and also improves travel within the province.
According to railway officials, both the Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail had been suspended since January 31 as a precautionary measure amid security developments.
Security Operations Background
Pakistan military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that recent intelligence-based operations were carried out against militant elements following security incidents.

ISPR added that militant command structures were significantly damaged and large quantities of foreign-made weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered. Evidence also pointed to organized external support and logistical facilitation for militant networks.
With train services back on track, passengers traveling for work, medical needs, and family visits can once again rely on rail connectivity between Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan. Authorities say security monitoring remains in place to ensure safe operations moving forward.
