Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti inaugurated the Balochistan Tourism Festival at Lok Virsa in Islamabad, highlighting the province’s peaceful image, cultural richness, and tourism potential. He said the real Balochistan is defined not by negativity but by natural beauty, hospitality, and heritage that deserve recognition at national and international levels.
Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has said that a few negative elements do not represent the complete picture of the province, emphasizing that the real Balochistan is known for its natural beauty, cultural diversity, and unmatched hospitality.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the three-day Balochistan Tourism Festival held at Lok Virsa on Friday, the chief minister said the event aimed to showcase the province’s peaceful and vibrant identity. The festival featured exhibitions of Balochistan’s cultural and historical heritage, including traditional women’s Balochi attire and handicrafts.
Bugti said the provincial government was committed to promoting tourism through public-private partnerships, ensuring a one-window system to facilitate investors and remove bureaucratic hurdles. He said that the development of tourism would project a positive image of the province and generate new economic opportunities for local communities.
The chief minister highlighted that Balochistan’s true identity lies in peace, love, and hospitality, regretting that national media often portrays the province negatively. “The narrative of a few negative elements should not be taken as the face of the entire province,” he said, adding that Balochistan’s cultural richness and scenic landscapes deserved global recognition.
Bugti also shared details of the government’s three-year tourism development plan, which aims to improve infrastructure, strengthen communication networks, and actively involve the private sector.
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal also addressed the event, noting that Balochistan offers great opportunities for tourism investment and that both federal and provincial governments can collaborate to boost this sector.
Bugti lauded the organizers for holding the festival in Islamabad, saying such initiatives help bridge understanding between Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan, correcting misconceptions and promoting national unity.
“Such positive initiatives are not only giving new color to Balochistan’s identity but also strengthening the foundations of a bright and hopeful future for the province,” Bugti added.
