Security forces have killed 58 militants in ongoing follow-up operations across Balochistan, according to official sources, revising the earlier toll of 37. The operations were launched in response to coordinated attacks attributed to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Officials confirmed that 10 security personnel were martyred during the operation, while 12 civilians — including four women, three children, and five laborers — also lost their lives in targeted attacks by banned BLA.
The attempted assaults targeted security installations, government buildings, and civilian areas across several districts, making it one of the most geographically widespread militant attempts in recent months.
Affected locations include:
-
Quetta
-
Nushki
-
Dalbandin
-
Kalat
-
Pasni
-
Gwadar
-
Mastung
-
Kharan
Authorities said security forces responded swiftly, securing key installations and major population centres, preventing mass-casualty incidents.
Terrorists used women during the operations, allegedly under coercion, with armed male handlers monitoring them.
One female attacker was killed during a clearance operation in Quetta. Officials noted that militant groups operating in the region have previously deployed women in suicide missions.
Civilian Casualties Highlight Brutality
Among the dead civilians was a laborer’s family targeted in Gwadar. Officials stated the family originally belonged to Khuzdar, underlining the vulnerability of migrant labor communities.
The killing of women and children has intensified concerns about militant tactics increasingly targeting non-combatants.
Clearance Operations Still Underway
Security officials say targeted clearance and pursuit operations are continuing in multiple affected districts. Forces are being supported by aerial surveillance to track down remaining militants linked to the recent attacks.
Balochistan remains on high alert, with security forces vowing to defeat all attempts to destabilize the province.
