Quetta Corps Commander briefs media representatives during a visit to recovered weapons in Balochistan
Quetta Corps Commander briefs media representatives as they examine weapons and equipment recovered during counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan.

QUETTA: Security measures and counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated, the Quetta Corps Commander said during a special interaction with representatives of the Pakistani media.

The Corps Commander briefed the media delegation on the overall security situation in Balochistan, the prevailing law-and-order environment and the security challenges confronting the province. The briefing also covered ongoing measures aimed at strengthening peace and stability and operations being conducted against terrorist elements.

The interaction provided journalists with an overview of the security environment in the province and the continuing efforts to counter terrorist threats.

Security Forces Remain Focused on Counter-Terrorism

During the meeting, the media representatives were also shown weapons and ammunition recovered during counter-terrorism operations against terrorist elements in Balochistan.

The display provided the visiting journalists with a direct view of material recovered during security operations, offering a practical perspective on the nature of the terrorist threat and the ongoing efforts to disrupt militant networks.

The Corps Commander said that security measures would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated, stressing that all possible steps were being taken to establish sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan.

The emphasis on sustained operations reflects the security establishment’s position that counter-terrorism efforts require continued operational pressure rather than temporary responses to individual incidents.

Security and Development to Move Together

The Corps Commander also linked the province’s security environment with its broader development trajectory, saying that efforts to establish law and order would continue alongside Balochistan’s development journey.

Sustainable peace, he said, remains essential for maintaining stability and enabling development across the province. The continued focus on both security and development reflects the broader challenge facing Balochistan, where improved connectivity, education, employment and economic activity depend heavily on a stable security environment.

For communities and businesses, security is not only a law-and-order issue. It is also a prerequisite for the uninterrupted continuation of development projects, commercial activity and public services.

Media Delegation Visits CMH Quetta

Following the meeting with the Quetta Corps Commander, the media delegation also visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta.

During the visit, journalists met and interacted with soldiers who had been wounded during ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan. The delegation inquired about their health and visited the injured personnel receiving treatment.

The visit provided the media representatives an opportunity to meet those who have sustained injuries while participating in operations against terrorist elements in the province.

Sustained Security Response

The latest interaction comes as security forces continue counter-terrorism operations across Balochistan against militant networks. Intelligence-based operations, area clearance and targeted action have remained central to the security response as authorities seek to prevent terrorist groups from establishing operational space.

The Corps Commander’s remarks reinforce the message that counter-terrorism operations will not be treated as short-term measures. Instead, security forces intend to maintain operational pressure until terrorist networks are disrupted and the security environment is sufficiently stabilised.

For Balochistan, the objective extends beyond eliminating individual terrorists. Sustained security is intended to create the conditions necessary for normal economic activity, public services and development to continue.

The message from the interaction was therefore twofold: the campaign against terrorism will continue, while the province’s development process will move forward alongside it.
