In a landmark reform aimed at ensuring transparency and merit, the Balochistan government has, for the first time in its history, conducted online recruitment tests and issued appointment letters within one hour on the same day.
The initiative has been launched with the recruitment of 111 government posts in the Balochistan Finance Department, using a fully paperless and digital system designed to eliminate delays, corruption, and political influence in public-sector hiring.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti described the move as a major milestone toward institutional reform, saying the new system guarantees merit-based selection through transparent online testing.
Under the process, candidates appear in an online test to assess their qualifications objectively, and successful applicants receive appointment letters within an hour—an unprecedented step in provincial recruitment.
In a post on social media platform X, the chief minister said the reform process has begun with the Finance Department and will be implemented in phases across all provincial departments.
He reiterated that the government had made a clear commitment to the people of Balochistan that government jobs would not be sold and that corruption and nepotism would not be tolerated. “Merit, transparency, and honoring public commitments are the foundation of our governance,” Bugti said, adding that systems are being strengthened to institutionalise transparency.
Officials termed the initiative a historic breakthrough in public hiring, noting that it is expected to restore public trust, speed up recruitment, and modernise governance in the province.
The reform is being seen as a potential model for future government hiring processes across Balochistan.
