Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced that the provincial government has completed the recruitment of nearly 3,000 doctors on a contract basis, a major step aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery across the province.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said a “quiet but effective revolution” has taken place in the health department in recent months, and its benefits are now reaching the public.
He stated that improving access to basic healthcare facilities in remote and underdeveloped areas remains the government’s top priority. As a result of the recent recruitment drive, 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs) across Balochistan have been made fully functional.
According to the Chief Minister, these measures are especially benefiting communities in areas where healthcare services were previously almost non-existent.
“People living in far-flung regions, who endure harsh winters and extreme summers, are now getting access to essential medical care close to their homes. This is a significant development,” Bugti said.
He emphasized that these achievements are not just statistics but represent real improvements in people’s lives. The Chief Minister added that health sector reforms will continue, with further expansion planned to ensure quality and timely medical treatment for every citizen of Balochistan.
