Frontier Corps (FC) North has killed four Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists during a successful blocking operation in Balochistan’s Saran Tangi area as part of the ongoing Operation Shaban, security sources said.
According to security sources, the operation was conducted during the night of July 11–12, when a Quick Response Force established a strategic blocking position to intercept terrorist movement in Saran Tangi.
Surveillance teams detected the movement of four to six terrorists travelling on motorcycles at around 2:15am. As the group attempted to pass through the area at approximately 3:40am, FC North troops swiftly repositioned to seal all escape routes before opening fire.
Following the engagement, security forces launched a detailed search and sanitisation operation at first light.
The operation resulted in the elimination of four Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists, with all four bodies recovered from the scene.
Security forces also recovered a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition and communications equipment, including an M4 carbine, three sub-machine guns, a rocket launcher with rockets, hand grenades, an under-barrel grenade launcher, four ICOM radio sets, a handheld signal jammer, a night vision device and two Alpha Fire IED triggers.
Security sources said the success was made possible through sustained aerial and ground pressure under Operation Shaban. Coordinated operations involving rotary aviation, UCAV drone strikes and ground forces forced the terrorists to abandon their hideouts and attempt to flee.
According to the latest intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) assessments, the remaining terrorists have fragmented into small groups and are attempting to escape as security forces continue tightening the cordon across the operational area.
Security officials said Operation Shaban remains underway, with FC North continuing counterterrorism operations to dismantle terrorist networks and restore security across Balochistan.
