The Balochistan government has launched a new mobile app for birth, marriage and death certificates, enabling citizens to obtain vital documents from home without visiting government offices. The initiative, developed in collaboration with NADRA, marks a major step toward digital public services in the province.
In a significant move towards digital governance, the Balochistan government has introduced a mobile application that allows residents to easily apply for and receive key documents — including birth, marriage and death certificates — online.
The system was formally launched after the Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Department signed an agreement with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The ceremony was chaired by Secretary LGRD Abdul Rauf Baloch, along with NADRA Director General Naveed Jan Sahibzada and senior officials.
Secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch called the initiative a milestone under the vision of Digital Pakistan, saying the new service will save citizens time, travel and repeated office visits.
“This modern facility will spare citizens the inconvenience of repeated visits to government offices,” he noted.
Focus on timely birth registration
The secretary emphasized that the provincial government is strengthening birth registration systems in Basic Health Units (BHUs) and educational institutions across Balochistan. He reiterated that registering a child’s birth is a legal and parental responsibility, as the absence of documentation can limit access to education, healthcare, inheritance rights, and national identity services.
He reminded parents that without timely birth registration, it becomes impossible to obtain a CNIC, enroll children in school, access healthcare, claim inheritance, or establish legal identity.
Centralized digital record system
The Local Government Department and NADRA are also designing a centralized digital system to integrate citizen records and streamline data entry across departments. Health facilities have been directed to maintain comprehensive birth records, while schools will share enrollment data with Union Councils.
“Timely birth registration lays the foundation for a child’s future and opens doors to education, healthcare, inheritance and a dignified legal identity,” Secretary Baloch said.
Residents across Balochistan have welcomed the initiative as a major step toward modern, citizen-friendly, and transparent governance.
