Authorities in Balochistan have decided to take strict action against non-custom paid vehicles following reports that such vehicles have been used in terrorist activities. Authorities estimate that between 150,000 to 200,000 non-custom paid vehicles are currently operating in the province.
The crackdown will involve the Excise and Taxation Department, police, customs, and the Frontier Corps (FC), with instructions already issued to personnel across Balochistan. In a recent operation in Mastung, customs officials raided a warehouse and recovered 11 non-custom paid vehicles worth PKR 81 million.
Officials from the Excise and Taxation Department stated that they have profiled 40,000 non-custom paid vehicles in the province, and personnel are now conducting daily operations against such vehicles.
Earlier Speaking to journalists, DG ISPR emphasized the need for an immediate ban on non-custom paid vehicles, noting that they have been used in terrorist attacks.
