Security forces have killed 12 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said the operation was conducted on September 2 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists associated with what the state describes as Fitna al-Hindustan.

According to ISPR, security forces identified and closely monitored a terrorist hideout before launching a swift and targeted operation. All 12 terrorists present at the location were killed during the action.

The operation also resulted in the destruction of a cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were reportedly being used to support terrorist activities in the region.

Sanitisation Operations Continue

ISPR stated that sanitisation operations are ongoing in the area to ensure that any remaining terrorists are located and eliminated. The military reiterated its commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist networks operating in Balochistan and other parts of the country.

The military said the counterterrorism campaign being carried out under the framework of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan (NAP), would continue at full pace.

According to ISPR, security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism and prevent militant groups from destabilising Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz Sharif Praises Security Forces

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation in Kalat and paid tribute to the personnel involved.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue the fight against terrorism until the threat is completely eradicated from the country. He stated that Pakistan’s security institutions and law enforcement agencies are making significant sacrifices to ensure peace and stability.

Earlier this week, security forces thwarted a coordinated terrorist attack on the Customs House at Ziarat Cross on the N-50 National Highway in Pishin district. During the operation, 10 terrorists were killed, while six security personnel, including two officers, embraced martyrdom.

In a separate operation on August 31, security forces eliminated 11 terrorists after an exchange of fire on the N-40 Quetta-Taftan Highway, where terrorist had established an illegal checkpoint and were involved in extortion activities.

Officials say security operations across Balochistan will continue as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and maintain law and order in the province.
