Balochistan government announces rollback of A-Area notifications and introduces new Levies Act 2025 in Quetta.
Officials in Quetta announce Balochistan government’s decision to withdraw A-Area notifications across three divisions and restructure the Levies Force under the new Levies Amendment Act 2025.

The Balochistan government has withdrawn all notifications that had converted B-Areas into A-Areas across Rakhshan, Makran, and Zhob divisions, reversing earlier administrative measures.

A notification issued by the provincial Home Department stated that all previous meeting minutes, approvals, and official correspondence linked to the conversion stand cancelled with immediate effect.

Signed by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Muhammad Hamza, the order has been circulated to the Chief Minister’s and Governor’s Secretariats, Inspector General of Police, and commissioners of the affected divisions.

At the same time, the government annulled all notifications under the Levies Act of 2010. Going forward, matters related to the Levies Force will be governed under the newly introduced Levies Amendment Act 2025.

According to the Home Department, the reforms aim to modernize the Levies system, strengthen the department’s institutional framework, and improve public service delivery. Officials said the updated legislation is designed to enhance the performance of the Levies Force and align it with contemporary security needs.
