The Health Department of Balochistan has taken a firm stance, warning public sector hospitals and district health offices of serious consequences for anyone involved in strikes or failing to ensure proper security at health facilities.
The Health Department put out a notice on January 13, 2025. It says they’ll punish any officer who helps, backs or makes strikes easier in health centers. They’ll use the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act (BEEDA) of 2011 to do this. The department points out that these actions mess up key health services and hurt the public good.
The order also told supervising officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to make sure their security staff, including hired security companies, stay alert and do their jobs well. If there were any mistakes or carelessness in security, both the officers in charge and the hired security companies would face consequences.
“You need to tell all your staff about these rules, and everyone has to follow them,” the notice said. It also warned that anyone who didn’t stick to the guidelines would face consequences right away.
The Health Department asked everyone involved to treat this as urgent and make sure healthcare services kept running across the province. They also sent copies of the rules to the Health Minister and Secretary to keep them in the loop.
This quick action is a response to the ongoing problems in healthcare. It aims to keep medical facilities safe and make sure people can still get the important services they need.
