Balochistan government grant for universities — University of Balochistan allocated Rs272.97 million
University of Balochistan receives the largest share of the Rs801.95m grant.

The Balochistan government grant for universities has been released, amounting to Rs801.95 million, to cover the salaries and pensions of employees at public sector universities across the province, according to the Finance Department.

In a statement, the Finance Department confirmed that the grant has been allocated under the Public Sector Universities Allowance to ensure timely payment to teaching and non-teaching staff.

The largest allocation has been made to the University of Balochistan, which will receive Rs272.97 million, followed by BUITEMS with Rs170.19 million. The Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar, has been granted Rs101.7 million.

Other universities benefiting include Lasbela University of Agriculture and Marine Sciences (Rs78.8 million), University of Turbat (Rs41.98 million), and University of Loralai (Rs29.8 million).

Additional funding has also been provided for Mir Chakar Rind University of Sibi, University of Gwadar, Bolan University of Health Care and Medical Sciences, and University of Makran, Panjgur.

Meanwhile, a special grant of Rs3.4 million has been allocated for the University of Balochistan’s Khuzdar Campus.

Officials stated that these measures are part of the government’s commitment to strengthening higher education institutions and ensuring financial stability for universities across the province.
