Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the provincial government’s education reforms are beginning to show positive results, with more than 717,000 children enrolled in public schools over the past two years.
According to the chief minister, the reforms have also contributed to a five percent reduction in school dropout rates and an eleven percent increase in student retention, reflecting growing public confidence in government policies and the education sector.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that 3,778 previously non-functional schools across Balochistan have been restored and made operational, allowing thousands of children, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas, to return to classrooms and continue their education.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the chief minister emphasized that quality education remains the key to ending backwardness in Balochistan and ensuring sustainable development for future generations. He reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating negligence, corruption, and inefficiency within the education system.
The provincial government has also introduced a monitoring mechanism aimed at strengthening accountability and improving educational standards across public schools. Officials believe the reforms will help modernize the education system and align it with contemporary requirements.
The chief minister further said that the government remains committed to continuing reforms in the education sector so that the youth of Balochistan can play a meaningful role in national development and progress.
