
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced multi-billion-rupee development projects for the education and infrastructure sectors in Balochistan, reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to the province’s long-term development.
According to Radio Pakistan, the prime minister made the announcement while holding talks with Balochistan’s political leadership in Quetta. He said that major investments are being planned to improve access to quality education and modern infrastructure across the province.
Five Daanish Schools to Be Established
The prime minister announced that five Daanish Schools will be established in Balochistan to provide quality education to deserving and underprivileged children. He said these institutions will help ensure equal educational opportunities for students, from Qila Saifullah to Turbat.
N-25 Highway Project Worth Rs300 Billion
On infrastructure, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the construction of the Chaman–Karachi National Highway (N-25) at an estimated cost of Rs300 billion. He said the project will significantly improve connectivity and ease of travel for the people of Balochistan, while also supporting trade and economic activity.
NFC Funds and Provincial Support
The prime minister reiterated that funds are being provided to all provinces under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award. He said national progress depends on collective efforts, mutual consultation, and cooperative federalism.
He further stated that, on the request of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Punjab government has allocated a portion of its NFC share to support the establishment of Daanish Schools in Balochistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that development and prosperity can only be achieved by moving forward together, adding that all challenges will be addressed through consultation and consensus.
