The Government of Balochistan, in collaboration with the civil administration, Pakistan Army, and Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, has formally launched a major development programme across the province.

Under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI), work on development projects is progressing at an accelerated pace. District-level committees are tasked with identifying, prioritising, and approving pending projects based on local needs to ensure timely execution and enhanced public service delivery.

Official sources state that 969 projects across 35 districts have been included under the BSDI framework. In districts under FC Balochistan (North), schemes worth Rs 8.705 billion are at various stages of implementation.

So far, 44 projects have been completed, work orders issued for 75 projects, and 90 projects are advancing rapidly toward completion. These initiatives cover key sectors, including infrastructure, basic services, and community development.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan and Commander Quetta Corps have confirmed that all projects under both phases of the initiative are scheduled to be completed by May 30, 2026. The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) is closely monitoring progress to ensure transparency, quality standards, and timely execution.

Local residents have expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of BSDI projects, highlighting that the coordinated efforts of the civil administration, Pakistan Army, and FC Balochistan are helping bridge long-standing development gaps and boost public confidence in state institutions.
