
Customs Enforcement Gadani seizes Rs 1 billion worth of smuggled goods in major operations across coastal Balochistan, including drugs, Iranian fuel and banned items.
Customs Enforcement Gadani Collectorate has carried out a series of major anti-smuggling operations along Balochistan’s coastal belt and the RCD Highway, seizing smuggled goods valued at Rs 1 billion over the past week.
According to an official statement issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), one of the biggest successes came at the Khurkhera checkpost in Windar, where customs teams recovered 188 kilograms of hashish from a container. An FIR has been registered, while further investigation is underway.
Passenger Bus Intercepted With Rs 70 Million Smuggled Goods
During another operation at the same check-post, customs officials stopped a passenger bus transporting smuggled items worth Rs 70 million.
76 Tons of Smuggled Pomegranates Confiscated
The Special Smuggling Prevention Squad also seized four refrigerated containers carrying 76 tons of smuggled pomegranates. The confiscated goods were later auctioned, generating Rs 25 million for the national treasury.
Smuggled Iranian Fuel Recovered in Ormara and Hub
In Ormara, customs teams intercepted two passenger buses carrying 14,000 liters of smuggled Iranian POL (petroleum products).
A separate raid at a warehouse in Bawani Hub led to the recovery of 10,650 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel.
Officials at FEU Khuzdar also seized a Hino truck transporting smuggled poppy seeds valued at Rs 24 million.
The FBR statement emphasized that these successful operations demonstrate the government’s determination to eliminate smuggling, strengthen border security, protect legal trade, and safeguard Pakistan’s economy.
