
Balochistan crackdown against banned organisation, strict measures initiated against foreign-based banned terrorist groups, accelerating Interpol Red Notices and prosecuting leaders.
A high-level meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfraz Bugti approved strict and extraordinary measures aimed at dismantling terrorist networks. During the meeting, officials presented evidence, including communication records and call data, showing links between foreign-based terrorist leaders and their local facilitators.
According to the official statement, the government has decided to tighten the noose around the heads, commanders, and operatives of banned organisations. The process for issuing Interpol Red Notices will be accelerated.
A comprehensive list has been compiled, identifying the leaders, commanders and more than 300 terrorists associated with various outlawed groups.
Chief Minister Bugti said effective action against every internal and external element involved in terrorism was essential, adding that those who shed blood in Balochistan would not be allowed to hide anywhere in the world.
He emphasised that exposing the true face of terrorist groups disguised as political entities was the government’s responsibility.
The Chief Minister further directed that actions under the new counter-terrorism laws be expedited. He instructed the Home Department to further activate the cell established under the Provincial Action Plan, stressing that eliminating all elements challenging the writ of the state had now entered a decisive phase.
“Balochistan will no longer fall prey to any foreign agenda. There will be zero tolerance against enemies of Pakistan and Balochistan, and every last facilitator will be pursued,” he said.
The meeting also ordered speeding up the prosecution of cases registered against the leadership of the BLA, BLF, UBA, BRG and Lashkar-e-Balochistan. Additionally, instructions were issued to fast-track the process of Interpol Red Notices through the federal ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs.
BLA is headed by Harbiyar Marri son of Khair Buksh Marri, who is based in London. BLA is an internationally designated terrorist organization. Recently the US state Department designated Majeed Birgade as a Foreign terrorist organization.
BLF is headed by Allah Nazar, the banned outfit has low tactical capability and often try to compete with BLA in funding and foot soldiers. There is a clear divide between BLA and BLF over resources, eternal funding .
Lashkar-e-Balochistan a terrorist outfit headed by Javed Mengal, brother of member National Assembly Akhtar Jan Mengal who is also heading the Balochistan National Party (Mengal) group. Javed Mengal is based in Europe. Most of the terrorist commanders are based in Europe.
The statement added that action will be taken against all local facilitators and the leadership of banned organisations under the guidelines of the Provincial Action Plan.
