Balochistan Counter-terrorism Report, 78,000 intelligence-based operations in one year, killing 707 terrorists and resulting in 202 security personnel martyred.
The Balochistan Home Department has released a comprehensive counter-terrorism report revealing that 707 terrorists were killed and 202 security personnel were martyred during operations carried out across the province over the past year.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Additional Chief Secretary Home Balochistan Hamza Shafqaat, accompanied by DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Aitzaz Goraya, stated that 78,000 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted during the year as part of intensified counterterrorism efforts.
Hamza Shafqaat said that while 202 security forces personnel embraced martyrdom, 280 civilians were also killed in terrorist incidents. He added that three terrorists were arrested during a recent operation in Kharan.
The Additional Home Secretary noted that compared to last year, attacks on security forces have declined due to improved strategy and better coordination among law enforcement agencies. However, he warned that terrorist groups have increasingly shifted their focus toward targeting civilians.
He termed the United States’ designation of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a terrorist organization as the most significant achievement of the year. He further said that individuals involved in terrorism against Pakistan while operating from abroad would be pursued through Interpol.
Earlier, in November, DG ISPR, while speaking to the media in Peshawar, stated that 62,113 counter-terrorism operations were conducted nationwide in 2025, averaging 208 operations per day. Although the highest number of operations took place in Balochistan, casualties were higher in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to DG ISPR, 4,373 terrorist incidents were reported across Pakistan this year, resulting in the killing of 1,667 terrorists and the martyrdom of 1,073 people, including 584 army personnel, 133 law enforcement officers, and 356 civilians.
He further revealed that 514 terrorist incidents occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 77 terrorists were killed and 198 people were martyred. Among the terrorists killed nationwide, 128 were Afghan nationals.
DG ISPR added that these counterterrorism operations are being conducted jointly by the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and intelligence agencies.
