Pakistan’s security forces have intensified their counterterrorism campaign across Balochistan, eliminating 145 terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs), targeted engagements and clearance missions conducted across multiple districts. The sustained operations, which include Operation Shaban alongside subsequent actions in Surab, Mastung and Khad Kocha, reflect an expanding province-wide effort to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their support infrastructure and restore security across the province.
The coordinated campaign is being carried out by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan, intelligence agencies and law enforcement personnel. Security operations have focused on dismantling terrorist hideouts, eliminating armed groups, arresting facilitators and recovering weapons and explosives to prevent future attacks.
Operation Shaban was launched in early July following coordinated terrorist attacks attributed by authorities to Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) and Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK). Since its launch, security forces have maintained sustained operational pressure through intelligence-led operations across Balochistan.
By 16 July, security forces had eliminated 91 terrorists under Operation Shaban, while the overall number of terrorists killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations across the province had reached 129. Officials said the campaign combines actionable intelligence with precision engagements, enabling forces to target terrorist hideouts and dismantle facilitation networks.
The campaign gathered further momentum during operations conducted on 21 and 22 July in Surab and Mastung, where security forces eliminated 10 terrorists, including seven in Surab and three in Mastung.
During the Mastung operation, security personnel apprehended two female suicide bombers along with a terrorist facilitator. Authorities also recovered weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), preventing what officials described as potential future terrorist attacks.
As follow-up operations continued in Khad Kocha, security forces eliminated six additional terrorists, bringing the total number of terrorists killed in the Surab, Mastung and Khad Kocha operations to 16. Search, clearance and sanitisation operations remain underway to locate any remaining terrorist elements and dismantle their infrastructure. On Thursday Security forces have killed four more terrorists during an operation in the Khad Kocha area of Balochistan, brining total tally to 10.
The ongoing campaign reflects a comprehensive intelligence-led approach that combines intelligence gathering, targeted engagements, arrests of facilitators, recovery of weapons and explosives, and systematic clearance operations aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts and support networks across Balochistan.
Officials said the state will not allow Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) or Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), or their facilitators, to operate with impunity. They reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to taking decisive action against terrorism while protecting civilians, critical infrastructure and development projects throughout the province.
With operations continuing across multiple districts, security forces remain focused on denying terrorist groups operational space, dismantling their command and facilitation structures and eliminating the threat posed by terrorism. Authorities say the sustained campaign is intended to restore lasting peace, stability and normalcy across Balochistan. Recent official statements have described the offensive as an intelligence-driven campaign that will continue until terrorist networks are dismantled.
