Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti held an open discussion on X (formerly Twitter), addressing questions from participants representing diverse viewpoints, including sub-nationalist circles, NGOs, critics, journalists, and members of civil society. The live session attracted significant public interest, with participation reportedly exceeding 16,000 listeners at its peak.
During the interactive session, the chief minister responded to questions on governance, security, youth development, education, and the issue of missing persons. He presented the provincial government’s position on a range of issues, stating that facts and evidence should guide public debate on Balochistan rather than misinformation and unverified claims.
Bugti said the provincial government is implementing several initiatives under its Youth Engagement Plan to create employment opportunities across the province, including Gwadar and other districts. He added that multiple projects are underway to improve economic prospects for young people and strengthen public service delivery.
The chief minister also outlined key governance reforms introduced by his administration, including pension reforms, the Electric Vehicles Policy, reductions in non-essential government expenditures, and structural reforms across several departments. According to Bugti, these measures are aimed at improving transparency, financial management, and administrative efficiency.
Highlighting the government’s focus on education, he said special funds have been allocated for the Education Endowment Fund and scholarship programmes to support students from across Balochistan.
He further announced that under a Rs4 billion digital connectivity project, high-speed internet services will be provided to all government schools, colleges, universities, and public healthcare facilities across the province to enhance educational and healthcare services.
Addressing the security situation, Bugti said Pakistan’s security forces remain fully capable of maintaining the state’s writ against violent groups. He also alleged that the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) had attempted to exploit the issues of missing persons and public rights to incite unrest, reiterating the government’s commitment to addressing public concerns through constitutional and democratic means.
The live discussion concluded with an extensive question-and-answer session, during which the chief minister responded directly to participants’ queries. According to the provincial government’s assessment, the session reflected an effort to engage with citizens transparently while presenting the government’s perspective on governance, development, and security-related issues in Balochistan.
