Pattern of violence at picnic spots in Balochistan

The Buleda killings add to growing concerns over incidents targeting civilians at leisure sites in Balochistan:

  • August 2025: Assistant Commissioner Ziarat Muhammad Afzal and his son were kidnapped while visiting a picnic spot. His son was later recovered.

  • June 21, 2024: The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) kidnapped at least 10 people from Shaban picnic point, Quetta outskirts. Only three were recovered, while seven were executed.

Authorities say investigations are underway to determine the motives behind the latest Buleda killings.
