The Government of Balochistan and Pakistan Railways have officially partnered to launch the People’s Train Service between Sariab and Kuchlak, marking a major step toward enhancing public transportation in the region.
Designed to provide fast, safe, and affordable travel for daily commuters, the new train service is expected to become operational within the next six months.
A high-level meeting in Quetta, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, brought together senior officials from both the provincial government and Pakistan Railways. The meeting focused on reviewing the project’s technical, financial, and operational aspects.
During the session, CM Bugti held a telephonic conversation with Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, who assured full support from the federal government. Minister Abbasi confirmed that Pakistan Railways would deliver the required engines, coaches, and infrastructure within the agreed timeline, and commended CM Bugti’s commitment to improving transport facilities in Balochistan.
