Four security personnel martyred, eight injured in Balochistan's attacks

In the past 24 hours, militants launched a series of armed attacks in Balochistan’s Kalat and Kech districts. Four security personnel were martyred, and eight others were injured as Frontier Corps (FC) and Levies checkpoints were targeted. According to our correspondent, an attack was also carried out on a police station in Nushki. Officials stated that the Levies checkpoint in the Togho Chhapir area was targeted early Sunday morning.

Attack on Levies Checkpoint in Kalat
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that unidentified assailants opened fire at the checkpoint. Levies personnel retaliated, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire before the attackers managed to escape.

The attack killed one Levies personnel, Ali Nawaz Langov, and seriously injured two others, Ghulam Ali and Muhammad Ayub Langov. Security forces rushed to the scene and transported the deceased and injured to the district hospital in Kalat.. Authorities launched a search operation to track down the assailants.

FC Checkpoint Attacked in Kech
In a separate incident late Saturday night, unidentified gunmen launched an assault on a paramilitary Frontier Corps checkpoint in Kech district. Officials reported that FC personnel stationed at the post returned fire, resulting in a fierce gun battle.

During the exchange, three FC soldiers—Naik Gul Sant, Lance Naik Rana Zakir, and Sepoy Lakhmeer—embraced martyrdom. Six others also sustained injuries. Medical staff shifted the wounded and deceased personnel to a medical facility, and later transferred the injured to Quetta for further treatment. Authorities identified Sepoy Lakhmeer as a native of Nasirabad, Balochistan.

Following the attack, the FC deployed additional troops to the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.

Failed Attacks on Police and Levies Stations

Reports indicate that on Saturday night, militants also attempted to storm a police station and a Levies force station in the Mashkay area. However, security personnel successfully repelled the attacks, preventing the assailants from entering the buildings.

Grenade Attack on Nushki Police Station
On Sunday evening, unidentified motorcycle-riding attackers hurled a hand grenade at a police station in Nushki. The device exploded near the building, causing minor damage to one of its walls.
According to sources, the assailants also opened fire at the police station, prompting law enforcement officers to retaliate. The attackers fled the scene, and the incident caused no casualties.

Condemnations from the Prime Minister and Balochistan Chief Minister

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on the Levies checkpoint in Kalat, stating that terrorists are enemies of Balochistan’s development and prosperity. He expressed prayers for the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to thwarting terrorist activities in the region.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also condemned the attack. He paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of martyred Levies personnel, particularly Ali Nawaz Langov. He assured that authorities would bring those responsible for the attacks to justice. Security operations are ongoing in the affected areas as authorities intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators.
