On January 27, a coordinated terrorist attack targeted the Frontier Corps (FC) camp in Gulistan, Balochistan. The attack began with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) detonated at the camp’s main gate, creating a massive explosion intended to breach the perimeter and sow chaos.
Following the explosion, five heavily armed attackers attempted to infiltrate the FC camp. Their intent was to cause maximum destruction. However, they were met with swift resistance from the security forces on duty. A fierce gunfight erupted, creating a tense and dangerous situation. The exchange of fire lasted for nearly 50 minutes.
Despite the intensity of the assault, the camp’s defenses held strong. The attackers were systematically eliminated, ensuring the safety of the base. Their plans were completely foiled.
Three attackers were killed during the initial exchange of gunfire with security forces. The clash was intense but showcased the swift response of the defenders. One of the remaining attackers managed to reach an excavator nearby.
The fifth attacker, finding no way to advance further, resorted to detonating his explosives. This caused a powerful secondary blast, but it failed to breach the camp’s security. The attackers’ plans were decisively thwarted. The quick and effective actions of the security forces ensured the safety of the camp.
