Attributing Balochistan’s issues to a single Institution is unfair: Atta Tarar
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has stated that blaming a single institution for Balochistan’s problems is not justified. He pointed out that well-known sources fund unrest in Balochistan and emphasized the need to educate the youth and guide them toward the right path.

“We know those who do not want people to sing Pakistan’s national anthem. Everyone also knows the sources of funding for unrest in Azad Kashmir,” he added.

The minister briefed the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting on Thursday. He stressed the importance of understanding the prevailing narratives in Balochistan. He specifically mentioned the case of Mahrang Baloch. Mahrang Baloch is a female activist. She organizes rallies with access to transport and catering services. He questioned who was funding such large gatherings and demonstrations.

Moreover, he further stated that Mahrang Baloch became a doctor through a government scholarship but is now misleading the youth, claiming that the situation in Balochistan is not as she portrays it.

Atta Tarar emphasized that young people should raise awareness about how the government allocates and utilizes provincial funds.”Shouldn’t the provinces be responsible for ensuring that 100% of tax revenues are spent within the province? It is the duty of the provinces, including Balochistan, to guarantee the full utilization of development funds,” he remarked.

He also informed the committee that the Joint Action Committee in Kashmir created a tense situation, and they well know the connections behind these events. Similar circumstances are emerging in Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will develop a counter-narrative in the region.
