The Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) in Rawalpindi focused on discussing heightened tensions with India after the recent Pahalgam attack. The Pakistani military emphasized its resolve to respond decisively to any potential aggression from India, reaffirming its commitment to national sovereignty and stability.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir cautioned India against any military misadventure, pledging a swift and resolute response. Deliberations at the conference also condemned civilian casualties in Kashmir due to Indian military actions, describing them as inhumane and provocative.
The forum expressed concerns over India’s role in state-sponsored terrorism and highlighted ongoing attempts to disrupt Pakistan’s focus on regional development and economic progress. It also addressed India’s moves to alter the Indus Waters Treaty, warning against actions that jeopardize Pakistan’s water security and regional stability.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif praised the military’s preparedness and refuted India’s claims linking Pakistan to the attack, dismissing them as politically motivated and unsupported by evidence. He also stressed the importance of using diplomatic channels to prevent escalation.
