Apex body commits to counter-terrorism efforts in Balochistan

The provincial Apex Committe convened on Tuesday to address the escalating law and order concerns in Balochistan, following a recent surge in terrorist attacks and violent incidents. The meeting resulted in a series of crucial decisions aimed at strengthening security measures.

The session, chaired by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, was attended by prominent officials, including Commander Balochistan Corps Lt Gen Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, and other senior members of the administration.

Discussions centered on assessing the current security landscape, evaluating counter-terrorism initiatives, and reviewing the performance of security forces. The committee also examined the progress on decisions made in prior national and provincial Apex Committee meetings. A strong emphasis was placed on intensifying anti-terrorism efforts and improving intelligence-sharing mechanisms to ensure more impactful security operations.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to maintaining order and protecting citizens, uniting every institution in its mission to safeguard lives and property.

Key topics also included enhancing border management, strengthening anti-smuggling measures, and advancing initiatives under the National Action Plan. Officials acknowledged that collaboration between security forces and civil administration is key to achieving lasting peace in the region.

The chief minister directed immediate implementation of the committee’s decisions. He pledged that the government would take all necessary steps to protect its people. He also promised to support ongoing developmental projects across Balochistan.
