The DC Shaheed Zakir Baloch All Sindh–Balochistan Independence Football Tournament 2026 is drawing large crowds in Gwadar as teams from across Sindh and Balochistan compete in one of the region’s biggest Independence Day sporting events, aimed at promoting football, youth development, and inter-provincial harmony.
Organized by the District Football Association (DFA) Gwadar, the tournament is being held at Baba-e-Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo Football Stadium and has brought together leading football clubs from both provinces. Named in honor of Shaheed Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch, the competition seeks to provide young footballers with a competitive platform while encouraging peace, healthy activities, and national unity through sports.
The tournament officially kicked off on July 27 with an opening ceremony attended by thousands of football fans. The inaugural fixture between FA Panjgur and Malir Karachi marked the beginning of a series of knockout matches that have continued to attract enthusiastic crowds and showcase emerging football talent from across Pakistan.
The latest match saw DFA Hub deliver one of the tournament’s most dominant performances, defeating Mulla Fazil Club Mand 6-1 to book a place in the second round.
Playing in front of an energetic home crowd at Baba-e-Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo Football Stadium, DFA Hub controlled possession throughout the match and converted its chances clinically to secure a comfortable victory.
DSP Gwadar Abdul Hafeez, the chief guest for the fixture, met players from both teams before kickoff and praised their commitment to the game. He said sporting events such as the Independence Cup play an important role in promoting discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive engagement among young people.
Tournament organizer Mir Arshad Kalmati thanked participating clubs, former footballers, referees, match officials, media representatives, and spectators for their continued support. He said the tournament is designed to identify and encourage talented footballers while strengthening brotherhood and social cohesion through sport.
With knockout action intensifying, attention now turns to the next second-round fixture, where DFA Hub will face Shaheed Memorial on Monday, August 3, as the race for the All Sindh–Balochistan Independence Football Tournament 2026 title continues.
