The Balochistan Assembly on Saturday passed a joint resolution calling for an urgent reduction in airfares of airlines from Quetta to other cities of the country which have been “hiked manifold without any justification”.
Mir Sadiq Umrani, the irrigation provincial minister, tabled the resolution in the house on behalf of other movers shortly after the session began.
The session was chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai.
Mr Umrani, while laying the joint resolution, stated that Balochistan is a poor province and most of its residents go to Karachi and other cities of the country by air for treatment and business because of frequent blockades of Quetta-Karachi and other highways of Balochistan.
